Activity Monitoring with GrandCare

GrandCare works with a range of small wireless sensors which can be triggered as a person moves around the house, opens the door or the medication cupboard. We also have smart switches, these can be used to trigger a lamp or detect when electricity has been used.

Within GrandCare we can setup “Rules”, below are some examples of how “Rules” work with Sensors and Smart Switch’s to monitor and keep people safe.

NB. Activity Monitoring comes with a choice of any 2 sensors within the price.

Activity/Multi-sensor Sensor

Scenario:

If parent goes to the bathroom between 11 p.m. and 7 a.m. and has not returned to bed, within 10 minutes and alert will be sent!

Rule:

Using a directional motion sensor beside the bedside, we set up a rule within GrandCare that states of the motion detector is triggered between the hours of 11 p.m. and 7 a.m. from when the motion is detected the system counts down from 10 minutes. If motion is detected within the 10 minutes it means the individual has got back into bed. If not an alert would be sent out to the designated person.

Smart Switch

Scenario:

Father wakes up at 3 a.m. to go to the Bathroom, by triggering The activity sensor this turns on the lamp using a Smart Switch and turns it off again when he returns to bed.

Rule:

Between 11 p.m. and 7 a.m. if the activity sensor is triggered switch on a lamp via Smart Switch. When activity is detected again switch off lamp.

Door Sensor

Scenario:

If father walk the dog in evening between 8 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. for 20 minutes and has not returned by 9 p.m. and alert would be sent.

Rule:

Using a door sensor, we set up a rule that states, if door sensor is triggered the door is opened between the hours of 8 p.m. and 8:30 p.m, and has not been reopened within 20 minutes and alert would be sent by text email or phone call to the designated person or persons.

Wandering

Scenario:

If mother's daily living routine starts to go out of sync, for example between 11 p.m. and 7 a.m. she starts wandering around going downstairs making drinks various times throughout the night opening the fridge or opening the front door

Rule:

Between 11 p.m. and 7 a.m. if excessive movement is detected over a period of three nights and alert would be sent. This could also be backed up with, if the exterior door is opened between these times any night and alert would be sent to the individual saying "it is 3 a.m. go back to bed". This would also send an alert to the designated family member.
